Invisible bars: the modern alternative to rejas

Want to protect your windows without putting up bars? Crimsafe security screens are the closest thing to invisible bars: stainless steel mesh that stands up to blows, crowbars and knives, yet from inside is barely visible. You keep the light, the fresh air and the view, and your home doesn’t look like a prison.

What are invisible bars?

“Invisible bars” means protection for windows and doors that stops people getting in without the iron bars (rejas) you see on so many Spanish homes. Many products sold under that name are cable systems designed mainly to stop children and pets from falling. Crimsafe goes further: it is a security mesh designed to resist forced entry.

How Crimsafe works

  • Tensile Tuff® mesh: 0.9 mm grade 304 structural stainless steel, extremely hard to cut or pierce.
  • Patented Screw-Clamp® system: holds the mesh in the frame and spreads the force of an impact across the whole mesh.
  • Three-point locking on opening doors and windows.
  • Tested to the Australian Standard: impacts, crowbar, pull and knife; up to 550 J (Standard) or 750 J (Ultimate) in a single impact.

Advantages over traditional bars

  • Light and views: 1.5 mm holes and black mesh that cuts glare.
  • Fresh air without insects: open the window safely and keep flies and mosquitoes out.
  • Emergency exit: the Safe-S-Cape version opens from inside without a key.
  • No prison look and no rust: stainless steel.
  • Made to measure for each opening, inside or outside.

Solutions for every situation

Are Crimsafe invisible bars really secure?

Yes. Crimsafe passes the Australian Standard tests for impact, crowbar, pull and knife-cut attacks, and its Screw-Clamp® system spreads the force of an impact across the whole mesh.

Can you see the mesh?

It is black mesh with 1.5 mm holes. From inside, in normal light, your view is barely affected; from outside it looks like a dark, discreet mesh.

Can I get out in a fire?

Yes, on the windows that need it: the Safe-S-Cape version opens from inside without a key and stays secure from outside.
